Mission

 

Passion d'ici’s mission is simple: to introduce the finest local gourmet products to the population of Quebec and in doing so, spawn economic development in the regions and create jobs for agri-food producers and processors.

 

Biography - Paul Samson

 

 

Originally from the Eastern Townships, Mr. Samson obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sherbrooke University in 1987. He has ten years of experience in sales and distribution with multinational food companies such as Procter & Gamble and Danone.

Paul made a radical career change by leaving the comfort and safety of multinational companies to offer his marketing expertise to small local producers. He created Via Samson Inc. and became a business development consultant for small companies in the agri-food sector. The results were convincing as his customers’ sales rose rapidly. After 10 years as a consultant, he founded Passion d'ici with his wife Isabelle Authier.

 

 

The History of Passion d'ici

 

The adventure into the world of food distribution began in 2008 with caramel from La Chocolaterie du Vieux-Beloeil.

At that time, Paul Samson had obtained a consulting mandate that consisted of accompanying a dozen producers to bring their products to market. A distributor was responsible for delivering the products to the grocery stores. The line of caramel from La Chocolaterie du Vieux-Beloeil stole the show.

Unfortunately, sales eventually stagnated and growth slowed to a halt. Conclusion: there was a major problem of representation and distribution in Quebec for small producers.  Isabelle and Paul seized the opportunity by launching Passion d’ici; building a warehouse in 2008.

Today, Passion d'ici represents and distributes products for some twenty producers with 700 customers across Quebec. Company representatives visit all regions of the province on a regular basis.
