Historic

This food distribution adventure began in 2008 with caramels from La Chocolaterie du Vieux-Beloeil. At that time, Paul Samson had obtained a consultancy mandate which consisted of supporting a dozen producers in the marketing of their products into grocery stores. Caramels from La Chocolaterie du Vieux-Beloeil stole the show. This project highlighted the lack of representation and distribution in Quebec for small producers.

We seized the opportunity, built a warehouse and launched Passion d'ici. Today, the company represents and distributes the products of approximately twenty producers in more than 1000 points of sale in Quebec. All the province's regions are visited by the company's representatives on a regular basis.

Paul Samson's Biography

Originally from the Eastern Townships, Paul Samson obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sherbrooke University in 1987. He has ten years of experience in sales and distribution within multinational food companies such as Procter & Gamble and Danone.

In 1998, he created Via Samson Inc. and became a business development consultant for agri-food SMEs. His clients' sales increased significantly. After 10 years as a consultant, he founded Passion d'ici with his wife Isabelle Authier.
